16-year-old Nwabisa is new to Cape Town, having just arrived from the Eastern Cape. She lives with her aunt Unonqwaza and her family and has started her first job: She cleans a big house on the coast. The area where she lives is not the safest, and when she is attacked by two young men, she is rescued by Fundile. It is not long before she meets him again. As their relationship grows, Fundile takes her on an adventure through the South African countryside. Along the way, Nwabisa learns more about what kind of man Fundile really is, and she must decide where her boundaries lie.
